Total Quality Motoring
has a structured approach to learning to drive, tailored to each individual's style.
Everyone has their own likes and dislikes, level of confidence, attitude to driving and
motivation, and will learn at their own pace. To reflect this, our training schedule is
flexible and you can also record your progress in your own 'Driver's Logbook'. It is
best to have sufficient theoretical knowledge prior to taking the training course which
then generally covers:- |

| Cockpit drill and controls |

| Moving off and stopping the vehicle |
 |
| Left and right turns - Major to minor roads |
 |
| Emerging - Minor to major roads |
 |
| Awareness and anticipation - Hazard recognition |
 |
| Understanding and reaction to - Signal signs and road markings |
 |
| Crossroads and roundabouts |
 |
| Interacting with other vehicles |
 |
| Manoeuvres (turning, parking, reversing) |
 |
| Pedestrian crossings and use of signals |
 |
| Correct use of speed including dual carriageway |
 |
| Emergency stops and use of mirrors |
 |
| Learning to drive with Total Quality Motoring occurs in five clear stages. All
subjects have an initial introduction and full instruction. You will then be prompted,
prompted as required and blossom into an independent stage. This could be for basic
training, pass plus, refresher or advanced level. When at the independent level,
driving correctly and confidently, and with an attitude that promotes safe driving,
you will have the 'Skill for Life' that will also ensure test success. |
